Cut your strips according to the patterns specifications. Sew the strips right sides together. 

Tip: Cut the strips 1/8 inch wider than the directions. You can always trim down, but you can never add.

PRESS your strips open, if desired starch. 

Tip: I prefer not to set the seams. It makes is easier to nest when there is more thickness to the seam. 

Cut your strips according to the patterns specifications. Rotate one of the units. The opposite fabrics will be facing each other. Nest the seams. 

Tip: If the seams are placed together properly, pinning is not needed. Pins add bulk and can alter the placement of the fabric. 

Sew the pieces together. 

PRESS open, then trim the unit to patterns specification.
