Gemstone: Emerald

Stone Name: Emerald

Birthstone: May

About: Ancient (Biblical era) mine fields were around the Dead Sea. According to the Bible, the stone is also found in Syria. The stone is referenced in the Bible a total of eight times, including in the Book of Revelation. To me the most memorable times it is used to describe to the color surrounding the throne of God. (Revelation 4:3) Unlike other stones, the color green. Emerald is a very expensive stone and has been made more accessible through synthetics.

The Bible doesn't specify which stone represents which tribe, but some scholars believe Emerald represents the tribe of Simeon.
