Jesse's Tree: Creation

My friend, Jen Frost of Faith and Fabric, is doing a quilt along with her pattern "Jesse's Tree". This quilt takes you on the journey from Creation to Christ's birth. Every Monday for the next five Monday's she will send out the pattern. You can sign up here.

Today I am sharing with you the first block... Creation.

I must say, this has challenged my foundation piecing skills. This is one area I don't excel in! It was pretty easy once I got started. For beginner foundation piecers, take your time and watch a lot of YouTube videos... that will get you through!

A little faith:

Isn't God's infinite creation amazing? I think about how I sketch quilts and how the creativity sometimes flows and other times nothing comes to mind. I'm in awe of God's power and endless creativity. Psalms 95:4-5 says:

"In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.

Even in the midst of the craziness of the world, it is a comfort to know the Lord has created everything. He is in control. Through Christ we have an eternal hope. Here are four things you must know.

Upcoming events:

December 1 -31: Hope Quilts Blog Hop

Fellow quilt designers will be sharing a "hope quilt." This past year has brought many trials our way. No one has been untouched it seems. My quilter friends will be sharing a project / quilt that has helped calm their spirit or brought a sense of hope into their lives.
