Can you believe it is already August! This sure has been the oddest year thus far in my memory. Speaking of the oddest year, next month is my birthday and once again I'm turning 29. Birthdays are an odd thing, sometimes the new number bothers you and sometimes it doesn't. I'm not sure how I feel about this one! But that is a story for another time.
I sat down to write about January 2021... yes, I'm already planning January. First, hopefully the year treats us a little kinder. Which also brings me to the point... the yearly quilt challenge. The past two years I have done a mystery but this year I am doing a quilt along. I am so excited to share the finished quilt named "Hope for Tomorrow" keeping it a mystery seems impossible! I'll wait to tell about the design inspiration another time.
This quilt is very bold and happy. I'm using fabric Christa Watson's "Good Vibes" line. When I first saw the collection I instantly knew this was the fabric. Besides, "Good Vibes" kind of goes along with the phrase "Hope for Tomorrow." Perfect pairing.
In the meantime, check out these events:
Quilt Block Mania (Block of the Month)
Over forty designers have joined together for this project. Each month the designers are given a color pallet and topic to design as inspiration. These designers are sooo creative, I can't believe how many of us there is and each block is different! You can make one of each then sew them together and have a nice quilt each month or wait it out until the end because many of us will have a unique pattern. Here are a few of the first and second months blocks. Click the picture to be directed to my patterns.
